In case you're wondering, we can hold our breath for a freakishly long time. Seriously. Anyway, Nick swam closer and closer. I wondered what the freak was doing? He had a weird look on his face. Yes, weirder than the one before he tickled me. He got closer, inches away from my face. He started kissing me. That's right, he was kissing me underwater. He put his arms around my waist, holding me tighter. Isn't this a bit dangerous?! You know, what if I need to breath or something, and he won't let go of me?! Oh well. I trusted him to be cautious. We started floating to the surface, still kissing. We finally let go once we reached the surface. I swam to the edge and climbed out. I had a weird sorta surprised, sorta confused, sorta freaked out, sorta happy look on my face. Nick got out, too, and walked towards me, with a bit of the same look.
I sat down, and Nick sat next to me. We were silent for a while. I laid back to watch the clouds. Nick copied me and laid back, too. I started humming a tune. Nick looked at me.
"What are you humming?"
"A song."
"Does the song have a name?"
"Yes."
"Well..?"
"Well, what?"
"What's the songs name?!"
I laughed. "Hoist the Colors."
"Never heard of it."
"You have now." We smiled. "Haven't you ever seen Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, Nick?!"
"That's where it's from?!"
I nodded.
"Well I didn't realize that. I like it."
"How can you not realize it?! It's the song that the boy who gets hanged sings. Elizabeth sorta sings it, too, in Singapore."
"Really? Hmm. Well, I haven't seen it in a while."
Silence.
Nick turned his head and looked at me. He smiled. I looked at him. I smiled. He rolled onto his side, and so did I. He started to do something when...
DONG DONG DONG!
It startled us. We hadn't heard the bell since yesterday. We both rolled back in surprise, then quietly laughed. We sat up. The sun had dried the fronts of our bodies, but not the backs. Ugh. How weird it felt! Especially my soggy butt! I looked at Nick again, and somehow I didn't mind the wetness.
